About CareWorks – High Quality, Affordable and Convenient Healthcare
Geisinger Health System in partnership with Weis Markets has opened in-store medical clinics called CareWorks Convenient Healthcare™. Currently there are clinics in Clarks Summit, PA, Allentown, PA (Kings Market), and Easton, PA. Two more stores are schedule to open later this summer in Stroudsburg, PA and Tannersville, PA.
CareWorks offers patients an alternative to crowded emergency rooms and immediate care centers for common medical problems such as sore throat, flu-like symptoms, respiratory infections, coughs, colds and other common illnesses. It also provides pre-employment physicals, school and camp physicals, and preventive health and wellness services. Each clinic is staffed by certified family nurse practitioners. These professionals collaborate with physicians from within Geisinger Health System or an affiliated health system partner, both locally (clinic visits, telephonic support) and electronically via Carework’s state-of-the-art electronic health record.
