The Consilium Challenge
So, here’s the deal. We know that there are tons of other cost-containment solutions out there. But we think that Consilium is among the cream of the crop, producing discounts that are up to double the national average. That’s not something that everyone can brag about. But we can. Therefore, we want to offer up a challenge: let us compete against your existing cost-containment solution. See how we match up against what you’re already using. We think that the results might surprise you. This little experiment would come at no cost to you, just a little bit of time to provide us with some information.
Are you up for the Consilium Challenge? We are. Email us at info@smarterapproach.com to see how we stack up.
The Consilium approach to claims management and discounting is a more resourceful method in managing out-of-network claims and cutting costs without the risk involved in more traditional methods. Utilizing benchmarks that reflect what providers normally accept from local, regional, and national payers, Consilium takes the focus off of the billed charges and places it where it should be, fair market reimbursement for providers.
For more information on Consilium and how it could help your organization, visit asmarterapproach.com to watch a 60-second video tour or to schedule a private webinar with one of our expert claims representatives.

Health Thoughts- Feeling Stressed?
A Shift in Your Diet Might Help Agitated Nerves
With the daily busyness of life, it’s easy to let yourself get overwhelmed and stressed by the constant go. There’s a reason why they call it “the daily grind” and your body might be screaming out for some attention before it goes into a stress coma. While some changes to your lifestyle may be in order, there is something else that you can do too.
There are foods (other than ice cream and chocolate!) that can give us the right mental and physical boost that we need to de-stress. These healthier stress foods can provide you with an alternative to the typical stress foods that many people typically reach for.
- Oranges: This natural immune booster is packed with vitamin C, which studies have shown to help reduce stress. This essential vitamin has also shown to lower blood pressure after a stressful situation.
- Blueberries: Another fruit that is loaded with vitamin C, blueberries have many of the same nutritional values as oranges. They also contain a large amount of fiber, which helps maintain normal blood sugar levels.
- Sweet Potatoes: Rich in beta-carotene and various other vitamins, sweet potatoes can curb your appetite for carbohydrates and sugar. They are a great alternative to that candy bar.
- Apricots: These little fruits are packed with magnesium, vitamin C and fiber. Magnesium is a natural muscle relaxant and can calm physical reaction to stress. You need to be careful to not eat too many though, since they are also very high in fructose content.
- Almonds: These nuts are simply bursting with vitamin B2, vitamin E, zinc, and magnesium. This combination of vitamins provides you with mood-boosting serotonin and antioxidants.
- Turkey: This thanksgiving staple contains L-Tryptophan, an amino acid that releases serotonin. L-Tryptophan has a calming effect that alleviates stress.
- Avocados: You can lower your blood pressure by reaching for that bowl of guacamole. Full of potassium and monounsaturated fats, avocados can calm your stress and quench that appetite for high-fat, creamy foods.
- Low Fat Milk: That old bedtime remedy of warm milk isn’t an old wives tale after all. Full of B vitamins and calcium, milk can help fight off stress to calm your nerves. Also rich in protein, milk helps your blood sugar stay stable, thus relieving unnecessary pressure on your system.
Including these foods into your regular diet with help you fight the stress of everyday life and boost a compromised immune system that is common during high stress situations.
