HOSPITALS IN DEVON HEALTH NETWORK RANK TOP IN COUNTRY

King of Prussia, PA – May 10, 2006 – Devon Health Services, Inc., a National Healthcare Cost Management Company and the Northeast’s most extensive Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), is pleased to acknowledge the three hospitals in the Devon Health network that have been recognized by Solucient’s 13th Annual Top 100 Hospitals study.

Solucient’s 2005 list of top hospitals included the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA, and Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster, PA.

There is a list of performance measures that Solucient uses to determine qualifying hospitals. They include a risk-adjusted mortality index, risk-adjusted patient safety index, risk-adjusted complications index, severity-adjusted average length of stay, case mix and wages, expense per adjusted discharge, profitability, cash-to-total debt ratio, tangible assets per adjusted discharge, and growth in patient outcome.
